From Rocklopedia Fakebandica
Jump to navigationJump to searchThis category is for musical artists who make a Faustian bargain with Satan for worldly success in exchange for their souls.
The legend of Faust is an old, much-used literary theme, dating back to the 1400s. A deal with the devil for musical success or ability was attributed to real violin virtuosos Giuseppe Tartini (1692-1770) and Niccolò Paganini (1782-1840). In the modern era, the most well-known case is real bluesman Robert Johnson (1911-1938).
