The Groovy Guys

"Band" assembled by protagonist Simon for the school talent show in the 2012 young adult novel Fame, Fortune, and the Bran Muffins of Doom by Marty Kelley. A loquacious nerd, Simon dragoons his two schoolmates, Munch and Ralph, into being a band to try to win the contest. Simon first attempts to emulate successful pop group The Funkee Boyz. But a lack of resources, ability, and talent force the Groovy Guys to reduce their act to dancing to a Silly Squirrels song. Mostly because Simon's sister won't even lend him a Funkee Boyz CD to lip sync to.
