Agent E=MC2
AKA "The Man from R.E.L.A.T.I.V.E." (Real Energetic Legal Aid Teen International Voice Exploiters), he's a Russian communist agent specially trained to steal the secrets of the popular music of the free world. Disguised as a long-haired folkie, he infiltrates Greenwich Village and attends the Night Howl Cafe with his guitar, which has a hidden tape recorder. Unfortunately, it's open mic night, and E=MC2 is unexpectedly dragooned into performing. He reluctantly tries his hand at the old Russian chestnut, "Song of the Volga Boatmen." It morphs into a hipper "Vulgar Beat Man" and he's a hit!
From "The Man from R.E.L.A.T.I.V.E." story of comic book Go-Go #1 (June 1966). The story title is a parody of spy TV series The Man from UNCLE.
