Q

Quad City Ramblers - From The Turtles Present The Battle of the Bands (concept album by The Turtles), 1968. Thanks to John R. Zillmer for this one.

Quadratics, The - Crappy garage band of geeks in 1995's Welcome to the Dollhouse. High schooler Mark Weiner (Matthew Faber) is the band's leader and clarinettist and hires older guy Steve Rodgers (Eric Mabius) as the singer. They do a version of the Rolling Stones' "Satisfaction."

Quavo the minstrel - From Queen Zixi of Ix (novel by L. Frank Baum), 1905.

Queen Booty Shaker - From the animated TV show The Simpsons (02/13/05). Rapper playing the Springfield Murder 4 Life rap concert. In the "Pranksta Rap" episode, Bart sneaks out of the house to go see the concert after being forbidden to go. Bart even gets onstage and raps a bit. But when he gets back home, he finds that his folks have discovered his absence, so he fakes his own kidnapping. Real rapper 50 Cent has a cameo as himself, but doesn't play the concert. Other rappers at the concert who are just glimpsed in the tv commercial for it are: Da Glock Pointers, Romeo Smooth, and MC Champagne Millionaire.
What the hell are those things on her breasts?

Queenhaters, The - A running sketch on SCTV was a TV dance show parody called "Mel's Rock Pile" with total dweeb Rockin' Mel Slirrup (Eugene Levy) as host. In the Punk Rock Tribute "episode" (03/18/83), this English punk band performed "I Hate the Bloody Queen," which gets in a dig about the Falkland Islands! The snotty lead vocalist was Martin Short. The rest of the nameless fivesome was John Candy on drums, Joe Flaherty on bass, Andrea Martin on guitar, and Eugene Levy on lead guitar. This guy has a RealAudio clip (scroll down). In a later SCTV show, the "It's a Wonderful Film" parody (12/20/83), a character is listening to the radio playing the unlikely collaboration of Jackie Rogers, Jr. and The Queenhaters. Thanks to Mark D. Glaenzer, Dana Sixty and David Wagner for this one. (See also The Happy Wanderers, 5 Neat Guys, The Lemon Twins, Linsk Minyk, The Ramblers, Jackie Rogers Sr.)

Quiet Space, The - From the comic book Those Annoying Post Bros.. Fictional band from the comic book works of Matt Howarth: Savage Henry (1987-1994), Those Annoying Post Bros., and Bugtown.
