Hip-hop group from the "Mayhem at the Jam" episode of successful UPN sitcom Moesha (March 19, 2001). They open for gangsta rap group Mayhem, with disastrous consequences.
Title character Moesha is played by real singer Brandy. Her character’s half-brother Dorian is a high-school student and aspiring impresario and is managing the group of his three friends:
- Nice (Derrelle 'Shorty Mack' Owens)
- Dirt (Abel Soto)
- Jay (as Walter Emanuel Jones) Walter Jones is a real singer and invented the Black Power Ranger, Zack.
Dorian is played by real singer Ray J. (William Ray Norwood Jr.), Dorian decides to name the group “What” which leads to some Abbott and Costello "Who's on first" nonsense.
Meanwhile, Moesha organized a campus concert for gangsta rap group Mayhem. Dorian bugs Moesha to let the group open at the concert for free, and is also putting the moves on the label’s A&R lady, Lenae Foster (Jazsmin Lewis). When Mayhem is late, the crowd starts going nuts, and Moesha lets What takes the stage to appease the crowd. But then Mayhem arrives halfway through What's first number, and wants them off the stage immediately! Moesha and her friend Hakeem are like, let them finish the one song, but Mayhem members Shenanigan (Lonnie Colón) and Mister Ruckus (Derek Luke). turn it into a fight leaving Hakeem in the hospital. Later, Moesha realizes that she is still in love with Hakeem.
