Nero and the Flame Ups

Rock band in the Roman era in the one-off "Tommie Sandals" story of issue #16 of Charlton comic book Ponytail (May 1970). Tommie and his girlfriend take a chariot to see them play at the Coliseum. Nero gets hit with lightning, and plays the first electrified music in history, rimshot.

Tommie's name is a joke on singer Tommy Sands.
