Morgan Adams Quartet Plus Two

One of the many fictional jazz outfits created by DJ/producer Madlib in the 2000s. The releases by these 'bands' on Stones Throw Records often looked and sounded as if they were vintage and discovered in a second-hand record store, with pre-printed ringwear on the cover and pre-recorded vinyl crackling in between songs.

Morgan Adams Quartet Plus Two contribute two tracks to Madlib's remix album "Shades of Blue", a recording for which Madlib was given access to the archives of jazz label Blue Note Records. "Shades of Blue" was released by Blue Note in 2003. Alongside the fictional quartet members, the credits for these tracks include actual musicians such as multi-instrumentalist James King on flute, Malcolm Catto on drums, and Dan Ubick on guitar.
