Jump to navigationJump to searchJimi Hendrix knock-off from a 1973 U.S. National Guard magazine advertisement. They used the cover of Hendrix's 1970 release Band of Gypsies and changed the lettering of "Hendrix" to "Monroe," presumably because they did not have rights to his name.
The ad was aimed at African-Americans, and appeared in the September 1973 issue of JET magazine, and elsewhere.
