One of the two most popular singers in Kazakhstan, and a favorite of reporter Borat Sagdiyev (Sacha Baron Cohen). His biggest hit song "Bing Bang" has been on the Kazakh hit parade for 14 years.
He was probably first mentioned in one of Borat's appearances on Da Ali G Show (2000, 2003-2004).
He was mentioned in the 2006 film Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan. In the film, Borat sings Korki's antisemitic hit, "In My Country There is a Problem (Throw the Jew Down the Well)."
A profile of him and some of his album covers were included in the 2007 book tie-in, Borat: Touristic Guidings to Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan. He was born in 1950, could play three chords on the guitar by age 28, in 2003 married 12-year-old twins, and is a judge on the tv series Kazakh Idol and Kazakh's Next Top Prostitute. According to the book, he has released 4,780 albums; 3,128 he recorded himself, and 1,652 he just stole a western recording and passed it off as his. On one album cover he is shown playing the clarinet.
