Henry James The Ghost Rider.png

American hard-luck violinist from the "Concerto for Horror" story from Magazine Enterprises comic book The Ghost Rider 12 ([A-1 No. 80, May-June 1953). No, not the motorcycle-riding, flameskull Ghost Rider. Talented enough, he moved to Rome to make a name for himself, but to no avail. He picks up a cursed violin that enables him to play the most difficult pieces. Just as he's basking in the thunderous applause, the building collapses, killing hundreds, and nobody remembers his concert. The next time it's a fire, then an assassination, then a plane crash. Nobody will hire him, and when he tries playing in the street, a parade turns into a deadly riot. Determined to be remembered, he plays at the top of the Leaning Tower of Pisa and falls, breaking both his arms. Denied fame even then, as its discovered his cursed fiddle is the one Roman tyrant Nero fiddled on while Rome burned!
