Gerdon And Marcellus
Electronic music act from the underwater kingdom of Drexciya, from the 'The Book of Drexciya - Volume One' (2019), a comic book by AbuQadim Haqq et al. In the book, Gerdon and Marcellus are introduced by King Drexaha as "The best musicians in our kingdom." They give a concert for the king and queen and all the tribes, clans and classes of Drexciya. The performance takes place inside The Great Music Concert Bubble of The Bubble Metropolis. On stage, Gerdon and Marcellus play white triangular keytars.
The concept of Drexciya was first conceived in musical form by Detroit techno producers James Stinson and Gerald Donald AKA Drexciya. The underwater empire originated from underwater-born babies of the captured women who were thrown overboard from ships in the era of the Transatlantic trade of enslaved people. Stinson and Donald founded Drexciya in 1989 and started releasing music under that name in 1994. The duo remained active until Stinson's passing in 2002.
