Following a fight, the band splits into competing orchestras and each half solicits music from the town composer. They both show up at a competition and play their piece at the same time, only to find the two pieces mesh perfectly.
The band's name roughly translates to Art and Friendship Band of Lagerwiede (Lagerwiede is the name of the fictional village in the film).
