Bridget the Midget
From Rocklopedia Fakebandica
Jump to navigationJump to searchFemale blues singer affected with severe dwarfism ("just two feet tall") in the song "Bridget the Midget (The Queen of the Blues)" by Ray Stevens from a 1971 single. The gag is that her voice uses the same sped-up tape trick of Alvin and the Chipmunks. She also tapdances.
According to the song, she's been playing "the strip" (it's unclear if this is Sunset Strip in Los Angeles, or the Las Vegas Strip) and "held over three weeks and getting rave reviews."
She tours and records with a backup vocal trio, Strawberry and the Shortcakes, who also are affected by dwarfism.
