Benny Goodwin and His Orchestra

Tissue-paper-thinly veiled version of real swing bandleader Benny Goodman from the "Oh, Swing-- Where Is Thy Sting" story of comic book The Kilroys #1 (June-July 1947).

He stops his tour bus at the protagonists house when the rain and flooding swamp the bridge. He and his boys play an impromptu concert for teens Natch and Katie Kilroy and all their swing loving pals.

Goodwin gets in a dig at famously uncompromising musician's union president James Petrillo, who led a complete musician's recording strike in the middle of WWII!
