Alan and the Jesters
Rock trio from the "Jester Melody" story of Archie comic book Josie #42 (August 1969). This issue introduces the new love interest of Josie (of Josie and the Pussycats), hunky folk singer and guitarist Alan M. Mayberry. Josie's old boyfriend Albert disappeared completely and inexplicably several issues previously. In this issue, Alan forms a trio with series regular Alexander Cabot III, and another new character, drummer Gloomer, who is so depressed and mumbly that his girlfriend's nickname is "Instant Replay," because she is the only one who can understand him and has to repeat everything he says for everyone else.
Alan and the Jesters never come up again, and a few issues later, Josie and the Pussycats are born!
