Rock superstar from the 1978 young adult novel Dr. Doom: Superstar by T. Ernesto Bethancourt, the first novel in the Doris Fein series.
Real name Danny Breckenridge, he has a death threat against him, and teen detective protagonist Doris Fein has to solve the case.
"Like I said," I went on, "Danny Breckenridge was going down the tubes with the old routine. His bookings fell off, and there was even talk of him quitting the business. Then, all of a sudden, he came up with this new character he played onstage. He dresses in a long black robe with a cowl. He weras dead-white makeup with black circles painted under his eyes. He calls this character Dr. Doom."
