Popular radio singer who gets murdered in the text-only short story "Station D-E-A-T-H Broadcasting" in comic book Pep Comics #30 (August 1942). Hero The Hangman solves the case, figuring out it was the only other character in the story, station engineer Jackson Bass. Confronted, Bass confesses he rigged the microphone to electrocute Lord because, "Lord caught me stealing the producer's blank checks to pay off gambling debts, and he threatened to tell." While trying to defeat The Hangman, Bass is electrocuted by his own rigged up mic and dies.
