Sick Dick and the Volkswagens The Crying of Lot 49.JPG

Classical music piece mentioned in Thomas Pynchon's 1963 novel V. and his 1965 novel The Crying of Lot 49.

Fictional musicologist Petard is a mentioned-in-passing party guest in V., searching for the lost piece by real composer Antonio Vivaldi (1678–1741). He must have been successful, for in The Crying of Lot 49, the piece has been recorded by the Fort Wayne Settecento Ensemble.
