From the 2003 novel (and before that, play) Liverpool Fantasy by Larry Kirwan of real Irish band Black 42. In an intriguing alternate-reality, Paul McCartney turns into this famous Las Vegas crooner after the The Beatles break up in 1962. In 1987, he wants to get back together with the bitter band mates he hasn't seen in 25 years in a depressing alternate-world Britain on the verge of a fascist takeover.
