Barquin is a "kloo horn" player in the Star Wars Universe.
He is the brother of Figrin D'an, a member of Figrin D'an and the Modal Nodes, usually performing at the Mos Eisley Cantina. Not an original member of the band, he joined later.
Barquin has some experience, as he played with The Max Rebo Band before.
In 1977, Meco released a disco single of the band's tune heard in the movie, mixed with John Williams' main title theme, as "Star Wars Theme/Cantina Band". The single peaked at number one on the American Billboard Hot 100 in August 1977, and was certified platinum. The single also appeared on an EP titled "Star Wars and other Galactic Funk", which was released the same year.
Ash released a cover version of the song as B-side of the single "Girl From Mars" in 1995.
