Loverboynik Lil Abner.jpg

Spoof of real pianist Liberace from Al Capp's Li'l Abner comic strip, introduced in October 1956. He's a short dandified fop admired by the ladies. On meeting 15-year-old hick strongman Tiny Yokum, he gets the idea to perform while Tiny holds him and his piano up on a giant platter. There are shenanigans when a jealous Dogpatchite gets plastic surgery to look just like Loverboynik.

Liberace was not amused and threatened legal action.
