A running sketch on SCTV was a TV dance show parody called "Mel's Rock Pile" with total dweeb Rockin' Mel Slirrup (Eugene Levy) as host. In the punk rock tribute "episode" (03/18/1983), this English punk band performed "I Hate the Bloody Queen," which gets in a dig about the Falkland Islands! The snotty lead vocalist was Martin Short. The rest of the nameless fivesome was John Candy on drums, Joe Flaherty on bass, Andrea Martin on guitar, and Eugene Levy on lead guitar. In a later SCTV episode, the "It's a Wonderful Film" parody (12/20/1983), a character is listening to the radio playing the unlikely collaboration of Jackie Rogers, Jr. and The Queenhaters.
