Unpredictable, bi-polar country-western "superstar" from a Saturday Night Live sketch. The sketch is a greatest hits television commercial for his three record set, "The Crests and Troughs of Vernon Hawley, Jr."

Played by guest host John Larroquette, his songs chronicle the delight and regret caused by his alcoholism.

His biggest hit was "I'm Drunk."

The sketch was on one of episodes Larroquette hosted, either 22 Oct 1988 or 18 Apr 1987.
