Early 1960s vocal quartet in the 1990 off-Broadway musical revue by Stuart Ross, Forever Plaid. They all die in a car crash on February 9th 1964 (colliding with a bus full of Catholic schoolgirls on their way to see the Beatles), and perform the entire show posthumously!

Lineup: Sparky, Jinx, Frankie, and Smudge.

There was a Christmas-themed sequel, Forever Plaid: Plaid Tidings.

The musical was also turned into a 2008 film.
