Barbara Stanwyck plays this sexy nightclub singer and mob moll in the 1941 film Ball of Fire. She hides out with English professor Bertram Potts (Gary Cooper!) to get away from her gangster boyfriend.

She sings "Drum Boogie" backed up by Gene Krupa and His Orchestra; her singing voice is really that of Martha Tilton.
