Thinly-veiled version of real British band Family from the 1969 novel Groupie, based on the real-world experiences of Jenny Fabian, assisted by Johnny Byrne. Member Joe is a stand-in for real musician Ric Grech, and character Grant represents real Family manager Tony Gourvish.
