Children's percussion instrument native to the Whos of Whoville, from the 1966 Dr. Seuss animated television special How the Grinch Stole Christmas!
It's a simple bass drum struck with mallets, but mounted on a pedal-powered high chair, so very young children who can't even walk could theoretically join the marching band.
The instrument is not in the original 1957 book.
