Folk rock band from the short story "Enormous Changes at the Last Minute" (1974) by Grace Paley. Band member/songwriter Dennis used to be in The Lepers.

They record an album For Our Son.

On the baby's third birthday, Dennis and the Fair Fields of Corn produced a folk-rock album because that was the new sound and exciting. It was called For Our Son. Tuned-in listeners could hear how taps played by the piccolo about forty times a verse flitted in and out of the long dark drum rolls, the ordinary banjo chords, and the fiddle tune which was something but not exactly like "Lullaby and Good Night."
