Father of main character Theodore Ryan in the 1991 novel Foolscap by Michael Malone.

His father had traveled the entire country by bus more than a dozen times, singing his two gold record hits, "Prom Queen" and "Do the Duck." Benny Ryan had been a minor teenage idol, and had made it all the way to No. 3 on the rock and roll charts with “Do the Duck,” which had started a short-lived dance craze.
