Protagonist of The Shaming of the True, a rock opera by Kevin Gilbert, released posthumously in 2000. Gilbert, along with others, was a contributor to Sheryl Crow’s 1st album, Tuesday Night Music Club (1993), and even co-wrote her big hit, "All I Wanna Do." The pair even dated, but broke up when they had acrimonious songwriting credit disputes over that album.

Gilbert unexpectedly died of autoerotic asphyxiation in 1996. The rock opera was mostly finished at his death, and was completed by Nick D'Virgilio and John Cuniberti.
