Every year, Ray Billingsley's comic strip Curtis celebrates Kwanzaa with a fantastical story not involving the regular cast. In 2023, "Kwamay and the Fish" involved Kwamay becoming a famous musician (saxophonist?) thanks to the fish encouraging him to practice.
