Kitty Ayrshire

Opera singer from not one, but two short stories by Willa Cather: "Scandal" and "A Gold Slipper." "Scandal" was written in 1916, but not published until 1919 in Century magazine. "A Gold Slipper" was first published in Harper's in January 1917.
