Egotistical Carnatic composer and singer played by Mammootty in the acclaimed 1992 Telugu-language film Swathi Kiranam. After getting upstaged by a talented child prodigy (Gangadhar), he tries to take credit for the younger man's work, which ends tragically.

Fake band connection: Swathi Kiranam was later remade as Sur – The Melody of Life (2002) and Qala (2022).
