Wild African-American rock and roll singer from the 1950s, in the "Wild Night in Tiger-Town" story of comic book Lloyd Llewellyn Special #1 (December 1988), written and drawn by Daniel Clowes.

He is a veiled version of actual wild 1950s rocker Esquerita, but his name evokes both Howlin' Wolf and Screamin' Jay Hawkins.

While on tour, Thurston runs into a local band that idolizes him, The Payne Brothers.
