Hollis Beth Lovers Lane.jpg

Nightclub singer in the "Blackmail Proposal" story of Lev Gleason Publications romance comic book Lovers' Lane 39 (March 1954). She sings at the Purple Parrot Club, run by creep George Castle, who tries to blackmail Hollis into marrying him, even though she's already engaged to Clint Conrad.

One of Clint's friends, Arthur Hayes, gets drunk at the club, and tries to sexually assault her backstage. Beth clobbers him cold, and Castle tells her he's dead, and blackmails her with it. After several pages of her agonizing, everything is magically fixed when she later runs into Arthur purely by coincidence. No one even brings up the assault. Get some help, Arthur, you creep.
