LOL WHUT

The Rocklopedia Fakebandica (www.fakebands.com) is the most extensive guide to fictional bands and musicians on the web. And in print. Basically, in any medium. We found our niche and monopolized it! We're the only ones who bothered, and that's made all the difference.

The Rocklopedia Fakebandica both catalogs and catalogues fake bands and musicians appearing in films, TV, video games, comic books, comic strips, webcomics, music, commercials, podcasts, miscellaneous, et cetera, odds and ends, various-and-sundry, what-have-you, and-so-forth, and-so-on, you-name-it, and suchlike.

Begun as a simple list on a web page published August 7, 2000 on humor site VGG.com, the Rocklopedia Fakebandica debuted with only fifty entries. Creator T. Mike Childs continued building the list, and in 2004 turned it into a printed book, published by St. Martin's Press on actual dead trees. The book version contained over 900 entries.

CONTRIBUTE NOW

In 2009, the website was turned into a wiki, allowing the site to harness the power of crowdsourcing, which, as we've learned, only works when there's an actual crowd.

Contributors are welcome! In order to prevent spam and the site generally being utterly ruined, contributor accounts must be requested via Email.
