Soprano prima donna opera singer in the 1936 film Rose Marie. While in the Canadian wilderness looking for her brother, a wanted fugitive, she meets Canadian mountie Sgt. Bruce (Nelson Eddy) and falls in love with him.

It's based on the successful operetta/musical of the same name, composed by Rudolf Friml and Herbert Stothart, with book and lyrics by Otto Harbach and Oscar Hammerstein II. However, in the stage original, the female protagonist is not a singer.
