Hopeful bongo player from the song "Bongo Bong" by French musicians Manu Chao, off his 1998 album Clandestino. It was originally done by Chao's band Mano Negra in 1991 with the title "King of Bongo."

It's a sort of bongo version of "Johnny B. Goode;" backwoods kid with talent goes to big city. But here, he does not appear to achieve success. The song was a success, however, hitting European charts.

Mama was queen of the mambo

Papa was king of the Congo

Deep down in the jungle

I started bangin' my first bongo
