Swooner Rudy Air Fighters Comics.png

Crooner from the Pvt. Skinny McGinty story of comic book Air Fighters Comics vol. 2, no. 2 (#14, November 1943). AKA "The Swooning Crooner." His gimmick is to be so overwhelmed by his own emotional singing he faints, or swoons. But he's faking. Also, does this count as an early example of "emo"?

He's come to play the military base, but idiot McGinty accidentally breaks all the band's instruments. He reassembles them all mixed up, and the show must go on.

His band is the all-female The Society Girl Swingsters Band.

His name is probably a reference to megaphone singer Rudy Vallée.
