Rising 1950s teen sensation who teams up with J'onn J'onzz (the Martian Manhunter) in DC Comics' three-issue Martian Manhunter: American Secrets (Aug.-Oct. 1992). Preston's single, "Blue Baby" is on a jukebox alongside Buddy Holly's "Rave On" and Howlin' Wolf's "Around and Around" (which was probably supposed to be credited to Chuck Berry, since a) it came out the same year as Holly's "Rave On" and b) we've can't find evidence of a Howlin' Wolf song by that name). He has an Elvis look with a Gomer Pyle vocabulary ("Hot Day-amm! I can't wait to write my mama!") His success marks the downfall of more traditional crooners like Eddie Lowe.
