Lanny Cole

Singer/songwriter whose songs are getting stolen. He gets helped by protagonist/heroine/lawyer Betty Bates, "Lady-at-Law" in Hit Comics #10 (April 1941).

She finds that crooks have set up someone in the next building by his window to take down his songs as he plays them on the piano. She catches them in the act, snags the transcription, and proves the case in court.
