Antsy and The Bugaboos
Antsy and The Bugaboos is a 2.5 minute short comedy film aired in 2006 on Comedy Central's Motherload. They are loosely based on The Beatles with some jokes on other real bands.
Created by Augenblick Studios, the short film was part of a larger work called Golden Age which "uncovers the seedy underbelly of the world of cartoons."
History
Antsy and The Bugaboos were a quartet of high-pitched insects that sang novelty interpretations of popular songs and had a TV Show.
Music critics hailed them as "not that intolerable" and "far from the worst music you can give a child".
Band leader Antsy produced their music as well as some side project bands such as animation novelty act Craig and The People.
Antsy left the band due to creative differences and the three remaining members continued to put out trendy cash-in albums.
The original band reunited for the Legends of Animation Tour.
The band has prevailed owing to the right balance of genius and convention.
