Brightly colored hippie alien band known for supporting Coldplay on their Music of the Spheres World Tour. Singer Angel Moon first appeared as a somewhat mysterious guest vocalist on the Coldplay's song "Cry Cry Cry" from their 2019 album "Everyday Life". On the band's subsequent studio album "Music of the Spheres" from 2021, Angel sang on the track "Biutyful". Angel and the rest of The Weirdos joined Chris Martin on a performance of that song on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on June 10, 2022. According to their manager Bruce Cakemix, The Weirdos made “the biggest step forward in human-alien relations since Close Encounters” by signing their record deal with Coldplay's record labels Parlophone and Atlantic. Time will tell...

Line-up

  • Angel Moon (vocals)
  • Sparkman (guitar)
  • The Wizard (keyboards)
  • Donk (drums)

Background

According to Coldpedia (the Coldplay Wikipedia) "all band members of The Weirdos were created from old and disused puppets in Los Angeles by Jim Henson's Creature Shop".

Outside of Chris Martin's fantasy world, there's an actual band called The Weirdos, who became early US punk legends in the late 1970s and released music on indie labels such as Bomp! and Dangerhouse.
