Doobetter Lester Sing Along with MAD.jpg

Clean-cut, all-American youth who's turned into a rock star thanks to smoking pot, in the "My Square Lester" story of Sing Along With MAD (1970), a parody of My Fair Lady (1964). Rock industry star-maker Henry Headman bets his right-hand Pitkin that he can turn this square into "the hippest, grooviest, swingiest rock star in the country."

After a month, Lester has a smash debut at the Poughkeepsie Rock Festival and tops the charts with eleven of his albums in the top ten. Waitaminute.
