In Nome, she meets hunky trapper Pete Ericson, falls in love, and breaks it off with Hodges AND music. But, then one day out trapping, Pete goes missing in a storm and is presumed dead. Anne throws herself into another tour and Ralph to forget Pete. When she wants to quit, Ralph reveals himself as the golddigger he is. Then break up and Pete suddenly and immediately re-appears and everything is magically better.
