Singer and adopted son of wacky Yiddish Sid Dithers (Eugene Levy) in SCTV's parody of the 1981 film The Jazz Singer (16 October 1981). Played by real singer Al Jarreau. In a nice twist on the original, Yissel wants to give up singing jazz with his adopted dad Sid to be a Jewish cantor.
