Baal

In the comic book The Wicked + The Divine, every 90 years twelve random human beings turn into reincarnated gods and goddesses. Despite being immortal and having other god-powers, they all end up dead in two years. The series is written by Kieron Gillen and illustrated by Jamie McKelvie.

Their purpose each go-round is to inspire humanity and fight off the Great Darkness. In the 2010s "Recurrence" (the term for their appearance) they all become pop stars.

Baal was born Valentine Campbell and was the first god to incarnate in the 2010s, becoming their default leader. He has lightning powers and was in a relationship with Persephone.
