Stage name of Oxford-born opera singer Margaret Donne from the novels, Soprano; a portrait (1905), The Primadonna (1908), and The Diva’s Ruby (1908), all by F. Marion Crawford.

The name was bestowed upon her by Greek playboy Logotheti and the older, eccentric opera singer and voice teacher Madame Bonanni. Her invented backstory is that she was born in the tiny (fictional) town of Boveguado in Andalusia, and is the daughter of Spanish contrabandier Ramon da Cordova, "...who sang like an angel and played the guitar better than anyone in Spain." And also the granddaughter of a famous bullfighter, because, why not.
