Sven Helstrom and the Swedish Rhythm Kings

Horribly square polka band in The Monkees pilot episode, "Here Come the Monkees" (14 November 1966). A hip, with-it teenager's nightmare, they play "Goodnight Sweetheart" to a much bored Vanessa Russell (Robyn Millan) at her sweet 16 party. The Monkees perform afterward to the delight of teens and horror of parents.
