Astrals The The Jack Kirby Collector 16 page1.jpg

Space rock and roll quartet from a four-page comic book story by Jack Kirby and inked by Bill Wray. It was created in the late 1970s sometime after the release of Star Wars, at the behest of Chicago radio programmer Glenn Kammen. It was supposed to be for a promotional giveaway comic for a radio station, but it remained unpublished until appearing in the The Jack Kirby Collector #16 (July 1997).

Their roadie is Kowalski, a "4-foot tall, half-baboon, half-deformed human," and their pilot is a robot named Micro-IV. The only other named member is Creole, the bassist.
